This is a fundamental step in the production of process air for the plant.
The aim is to eliminate dust and moisture from inlet air, in order to prevent oleum forming if humidity reacts with SO3.

Basically, the inlet air flows through a high-efficiency blower, and is then cooled down by a heat exchanger which uses glycol as a refrigerant.

As a  result, we process air at a temperature of around 5 °C which is conveyed into a dryer equipped with silica gel, which will absorb moisture.

After this treatment, the process air is ready to be used in the plant.
